DIBOOS signs the first sectoral agreement in its history with RTVE

The agreement, signed together with PROA, establishes a stable framework for collaboration over the next four years and represents an unprecedented milestone for the Spanish animation industry.

Spanish animation has taken a historic step today. DIBOOS, the Spanish Federation of Associations of Animation and Visual Effects Producers, has signed a collaboration agreement with RTVE and PROA that marks a turning point for the sector, becoming the first sectoral agreement that RTVE has signed with the Spanish animation industry.

This agreement represents unprecedented institutional recognition of an industry that has established itself as one of the most innovative, international, and strategic drivers of Spanish audiovisual production. Valid for four years, the agreement establishes a stable framework for collaboration between the public broadcaster and the leading representatives of the sector, reinforcing RTVE's commitment to the creation, production, distribution, and promotion of animated content.

Beyond its operational scope, the signing of this agreement represents a paradigm shift in the relationship between RTVE and the industry. For the first time, collaboration is structured through a sectoral agreement that establishes permanent mechanisms for dialogue, coordination, and monitoring to promote the growth of Spanish animation.

Among the main measures included in the agreement are the strengthening of specific calls for animation projects, the holding of regular meetings between RTVE and the sector to analyze its needs and challenges, the promotion of Spanish productions and the support for the internationalization of an industry that is already among the most recognized in the world for the quality of its content and its creative capacity.

For DIBOOS, this agreement represents significant recognition of the work carried out over the years to position animation where it belongs within the Spanish audiovisual industry. The signing of the agreement is also the result of ongoing dialogue between public institutions and representative organizations in the sector, demonstrating that collaboration is the best tool for building a stronger, more competitive, and more sustainable ecosystem.

Spanish animation generates highly skilled employment, drives technological development, creates internationally recognized intellectual property, and makes a decisive contribution to Spain's cultural image worldwide. In this context, the agreement signed with RTVE reinforces the role of the public broadcaster as a strategic partner of an industry with growing economic, cultural, and social importance.

At DIBOOS we would like to thank RTVE and PROA for their commitment and willingness to collaborate in making this agreement possible, convinced that it represents the beginning of a new stage that will contribute to strengthening the present and future of Spanish animation.

Because today, not only has an agreement been signed.

Today a commitment to the future of Spanish animation has been signed.
