He recently passed away Director and producer Ángel Izquierdo. A person closely linked to the world of animation for more than 4 decades, in 1982 he co-founded the animation studio Millimeters, which would quickly become a reference in the world of Spanish animation, and from which he worked on the pre-production of various projects. international projects, among which “Astérix in América”, “The Pink Panther” or “Sonic” stand out, as well as in the production of feature films such as “The Adventures of Don Quixote” or “RH+ El Vampiro de Sevilla”.

But perhaps it was in his role as director where he achieved greater recognition. Thus, in 2002 his feature film “Dragon Hill” was awarded the Goya for best animated film, and with which he achieved great sales success on DVD and gained important recognition in different European countries. A few years later he would direct its sequel, “The Magic Cube”, for which he would get a new nomination for the Goya Awards in its 2007 edition. His last work was “El corazón del roca”, a feature film produced by Millimeters in 2012 and which in turn co-directed and with which he would achieve a new Goya nomination for best animated film.

A very beloved person in his profession, in addition to his multiple professional successes in his extensive career, we must highlight the magnificent relationship he had with his colleagues both at work and personal level, leaving a gap that is difficult to fill.
