DIBOOS, ON WORLD ANIMATION DAY, ANNOUNCES THE CREATION OF A GUIDE ON HOW TO FINANCE AND GLOBALLY EXPLOIT AN ANIMATION AND VISUAL EFFECTS PROJECT
Return (Federation of animation and visual effects producers of Spain) continues to make clear its commitment to the sector and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, has begun to prepare a guide document whose main objective is to help digital creators achieve greater professionalization in order to achieve financing for new digital projects and encourage the creation of new animation studios with the capacity to generate global content in all exploitation areas.
To this end, this document will collect in detail all the possible financial tools available, as well as an analysis of certain success cases that can serve as a guide for new projects, also placing special emphasis on the legal provisions to achieve the necessary legal protection in regarding the copyright of audiovisual creations. In order to be able to collect in this guide in the most reliable and current way possible the reality of the sector, Return is carrying out a survey of Spanish animation and visual effects companies.
Besides Return will collaborate in this study with all public institutions that participate in the financing of projects with the aim of informing about the various options that professionals and companies have when creating digital content.

This way Return aims to help audiovisual fiction creators and private investors understand the challenges and opportunities of the sector, encouraging private investments in new animation and visual effects projects. It must be remembered that animation and special effects, despite being only 4% of the total Spanish audiovisual companies, generate 20% of employment in the sector, employing nearly 8,000 professionals (of which 32% is female employment), continuously creating in the recent years qualified jobs and young people according to data collected in the White book of the sector. It is also worth noting the great prestige achieved by the animation and special effects sector internationally, having achieved that around 70% of the turnover of Spanish companies dedicated to animation comes from abroad.
Besides Return will actively collaborate in the numerous events and screenings organized by the Madrid's community, which will be held on the occasion of Animation Day on October 29, 30 and 31 in different cultural spaces and where on October 29 the new platform known as “Next Lab”. This platform, created by the organizers of Weird Market and the Quirino Awards, has as main sponsor the Madrid's community through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Among its objectives is to connect art and technology in the animation and digital content industry in order to discover new talent and promote the most advanced animation in both its narrative and technical aspects.
